I'm participating in The CSI Project and entering my Framed Starfish wall art.
I bought a vintage oval frame at my favorite antique shop.
The frame was gold. I gave it a coat of primer, then satin black. Much better. I didn't want to use it as a regular picture frame, so I thought it would be fun to hang a starfish in it. I love living by the beach and having bits of reminders displayed round my home.
Here it is. Hung him by a little black decorative knob. Cute, but it needed something more.

Added some fun dotted scrapbook paper. Roughed him up a bit around the edges to bring out the cool design. I love the gold peaking through!

Viola! Look how mister starfish stands out now!

Well that's cute as can be! I just got back from Hobby Lobby (don't know if you have them where you live) where they're having half price off scrapbook paper! Bought a lot, as I like to decoupage and decorate file folders and such!

Very cute project! I've always wanted to hang picture like that on the wall but can't figure out how to put the knob up.

Yay for the frame idea! I bought a frame this weekend, too, and think this is just the thing to do with it!

Hi Marie, thanks for stopping by
Good luck with your chalk baord, I can't wait to see it! Great job on the starfish art. I figured I needed some sea life in my house too, and yesterday I came across a bag of starfish at TJMaxx. Just laying them around different areas of the house is perfect. They look great no matter where you put them

How absolutely lovely!
I too was looking for ticking. The only thing I could find was vintage, on Ebay and out of my price range.

Wow!! Looks fabulous!! I did this with an old vintage pair of ladies silk gloves. But the starfish REALLY stands out and makes a statement. And I have everything I need already. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
